Can you set up your account on WhatsApp Business using a landline? Yes! It's possible, under one condition. 

WhatsApp Business using a landline: Which number can I use?

If your business uses a landline as its main contact number, it's probably more convenient to connect your WhatsApp service to the same number. But, is that even possible?

First, the good news. Yes, you can set up WhatsApp Business using both a landline number and a cell phone number. Even toll-free numbers like 1-800 numbers are possible. You can also use an already existing landline number as a WhatsApp contact for your company.

However, you have to use the WhatsApp Business API. Connecting a landline number with the WhatsApp Business App doesn't work! You get access to the WhatsApp Business API through official WhatsApp Business Solution Providers like Sinch Engage

However, you should note the following: landline extensions are not supported to complete the verification process. Please use a landline number without an extension to verify your phone number. For security reasons, the six-digit verification code will only be sent to the main landline number that you use for your business account.

How to set up WhatsApp Business using a landline number

Your WhatsApp service channel has exactly one number! You simply bring this number (regardless of if it's a landline or a cell phone) with you when you become a Sinch Engage customer.

💡 A phone number may only be used for one WhatsApp application at a time. That means: your number may not be used for the verification for your private WhatsApp and the Business App at the same time!
