Telegram is currently one of the fastest growing messenger apps in the world. Not only are the many fun features of the app popular, but so are the bots. Below, we have picked out ten of our favorite Telegram bots available right now.

Telegram has had some impressive years. In 2020, the messaging app started to take off during the Pandemic and by 2022, the app already had around 700 users worldwide. By the end of 2023, the company even reported 800 million users.

Compared to other instant messaging apps, that doesn't sound like much at first (WhatsApp, for example, has two billion users). But in many countries, such as Mexico, Brazil, and Spain, the blue messaging app has fought its way into the top three most used chat applications and is growing much faster than its competitors.

One key factor that contributes to this popularity are Telegram bots!

They're already widespread in the private sector, and there are quite a few of them. But companies have also discovered them and more and more corporate accounts are starting to use bots in their own channels, or groups, and with great success at that! That's why we've compiled a list (in no particular order) of our personal top ten Telegram bots.

What's a Telegram bot?

A Telegram bot is a program that offers features and automations that Telegram users can integrate into their chats, channels or groups. They can be set up either with Telegram's own bot builder, which is called the Botfather, or with the Telegram bot API. The second option offers more possibilities for developers.

Classic use cases for Telegram bots are:

  • Automated broadcasts
  • Pushing content from social media or blogs to Telegram
  • Real-time information channel
  • Pre-qualification and first-level support in customer service
  • FAQs
  • Virtual showcase
  • File management
  • Translations

Without further ado, let's start! These are our ten favorite Telegram bots right now.

1. Botfather (@botfather): A bot for creating bots

The Botfather is an official bot created by Telegram. You can use it to create Telegram bots to suit your own needs. This makes the Botfather the starting point for most bots on the platform.

2. Skeddy (@SkeddyBot): A tool for reminders

The Skeddy bot is a reminder tool that you can talk to. It's pretty simple. Just add your notes for the reminder you want in the Telegram chat, enter a time and date and sit back and wait.

Skeddy will then automatically set the alarm, and you'll receive a Telegram chat notification when the time comes.

3. IFTTT (@IFTTT): Connect your group with 360 external services

IFTTT, aka If This Then That, is a platform that focuses on connecting different web services and creating automations for users.

Your Telegram bot can connect your group or channel with up to 360 external services such as Instagram, Twitter, and many others. You can also use the bot to define actions that are triggered by certain conditions. An example would be to automatically post Instagram updates from certain accounts in the Telegram group, or to send messages to Telegram when someone mentions you on Instagram.

4. Gamee: Fun and games (@gamee)

You can play games on Telegram with the Gamee bot, competing with friends, and you can also compare results.

You can activate the bot in your own channel or in an existing chat.

5. DropMail.me (@DropMailBot): E-mail addresses for one-time use

If you don't want to share your email address with everyone or want to avoid getting spam mail, the DropMail bot offers throw-away e-mail addresses. You can receive confirmation or activation e-mails to complete your process. Ten minutes after using the e-mail address to sign up for platforms, it'll be deleted.

7. Telegram for Zoom (@zoombot): Use Zoom without the app

There are probably few people that don't use Zoom at this point, whether it's for video conferences at work, your online yoga class, or for chatting with friends and family.

Of course, you can also use Zoom on your cell phone by using the app. But this also takes up a lot of storage space. If you want to use Zoom without downloading the app, you can use the Telegram for Zoom bot.

This allows you to start Zoom directly in Telegram, which is especially helpful when you're on the move.

8. AirTrack (@airtrack_bot): Find flights and keep track of prices

Another very interesting use case for a Telegram bot is AirTrack. You can use AirTrack as an application to find flights without having to search on the internet and without even opening an internet browser. All you have to do is enter your departure airport, your destination, and the dates of the flights, and AirTrack will provide you with the cheapest offers.

All the important flight information, as well as a link to purchase the tickets, will be provided in the Telegram app. And the best thing about the bot: you can have it track certain routes and be notified when a cheaper flight is available.

9. Movie Tracker Bot (@movieS4Bot): Get movie information directly in the chat

With the Movie Tracker Bot, you can access information about movies directly in the Telegram chat.

The bot is connected to the movie portal IMDB and can provide you with data on actors, ratings, and much more in a matter of seconds. All you have to do is enter the name of the movie.

10. File to bot (@filetobot): Free cloud storage

File to bot can be described as an external cloud for storing files. With it, you can organize your saved files, create QR codes and share them on social media. All you have to do is post the file in the chat and the bot takes care of the rest.

11. On this day Bot (@eventsofthedaybot): Daily reminder of historic anniversaries

What happened a hundred years ago today? Were there any special historical events on today's date? These are exactly the questions that the "events of the day bot" can answer for you.

With this Telegram bot, you'll receive a short message every day with information about historical events that took place on the respective date. You can even ask it to give you information about a specific date.

This is not only interesting for history buffs, but it could also start fun water cooler conversations at work, at parties, or even provide inspiration.

This wide variety of Telegram bots shows that the possibilities for Telegram bots are almost endless.
